I feel like this weekend is the beginning of a hot, humid, sticky, sweaty summer. I know, I know. Next week is supposed to be rainy and windy, but this weekend made me realize what is around the corner, SUMMER!
Look what jumped out of it's nest this week! He is so cute. He belongs to us because he is a "bird".
Ritter Springs Fridays have resumed, much to my delight. I got a nice little burn on my forehead and nose. That's what I get for relaxing in the sun, visiting with fun moms while our kids run wild at the park. I really don't think there is any place I'd rather be on a Friday afternoon than at Ritter Springs. We're getting fresh air, a healthy dose of sunshine, good conversation and the children can just wander, climb trees, attempt the monkey bars, roam and be themselves.
On the drive home from the park we purchased a soft sided pool from a lovely grandma and grandpa. Her middle name is Marie and he followed us home with the ladder in the back of his car because it wouldn't fit in our van. Nicest people ever I tell ya. Can't wait till William has a day off so we can set it up.
Today I ventured out with all five kiddos (which I guess I do quite often) and we went to the minor league baseball game in town. The girls' honor choir was singing so they were the main attraction, but the game was pretty fun too.
Keeping Kate and Walter out from under the chairs, off the ground and in my aisle was the only downside, but hey I've got to burn off the calories somehow. 
It was while sitting in the sun I recognized that familiar sticky, humid feeling and wished I had worn shorts instead of my fancy shmancy jeans.
My shining moment of motherhood was while trying to exit the ballpark with all five children. I had actually traded a cousin for Hank but I still had little miss independent Kate to deal with. She kept yanking her hand out of mine and trying to run off. As she yanked and ducked, I grabbed for her but was only quick enough to get just a piece of her hair caught in my fingers which brought forth a high pitched scream from her sweet little lips. "Owwwwww! You hurt me!" was her response. "Hold my hand" was my reply. You should have seen the looks I got. Oh well, you can't please them all. Funny thing was 30 seconds later she was all smiles skipping alongside me like it never even happened.
Tomorrow I look forward to
1. receiving many compliments on my new tan
2. wrestling Walter during 3 hours of church....nursery is only 4.3 months away!!!

Budgeting tip of the day: If you don't have the money to pay for an item now...don't buy it. Save up and buy it later. I promise you there will ALWAYS be another sale, another car, another couch. It's not the last one on the planet and good deals come along everyday. Don't go in debt or spend your grocery money on something you can't afford and don't need. After paying all the finance charges and late fees on your credit card, was that flat screen tv really such a good deal after all? If we could just be more patient, we could save so much more money in the long run! OK that's all. No more for today. Sorry, I get so worked up over this...I just love it!
