There are no pictures to prove it, but tonight at mutaul I enjoyed a full hour of shouting out directions (My voice is a tad hoarse from all the mothering I did, I mean telling kids to be quiet and listen to the instructions), corralling 35 kids and laughing my head off. I really am trying to not laugh so loud and obnoxiously, but I find it difficult to control myself at times. It's while in the moment with my head thrown back that I remember I was going to tone it down a bit. I cover my mouth with my hand and try to giggle instead. But those kids were hilarious chasing after each other playing steal the bacon, companion tag and poison stump. There were times I just had to laugh...I couldn't help myself. It was pure joy witnessing 35 boys and girls ages 12-18 acting like 8 year-olds playing in the street on a summer afternoon. Jumping, yelling, shouting, laughing, waving their hands....I LOVED IT! I would have joined in, but Walter was attached to me in the sling and was getting plenty of stimulation just watching the controlled chaos. I couldn't contain my excitement and made a fool out myself several times. I can be such a nerd .... and I love that too. Did I mention I also loved the 3 donuts and 3 glasses of chocolate milk I consumed after? I need some help in the self control area I think.
Do you ever like to act like a kid?
